Au Japon, 'H' (etchi), c'est notre 'X'... SEXE.
Depuis longtemps déjà, ce 'H' intrigue et inspire l'Occident : le Japon, bout du monde érotico-exotique, extrême limite du fantasme orientaliste. Paradis lointain peuplé de courtisanes, de geishas, de femmes soumises, de lycéennes peu farouches et d'héroïnes de manga aux poitrines démesurées. Pourtant, ce 'H' pourrait aussi n'être qu'une chimère sans queue ni tête...
Partant de leur propre conception du 'H', 20 illustrateurs européens (Français et Belges) redessinent, en exclusivité pour GURATO, les contours d'une idée reçue...

In Japan, 'H' (etchee), stands for 'X'... SEX.
It has been a long time since this 'H' intrigues and inspires the Western world: Japan, at the end of the erotico-exotic world, the outermost limit to the orientalist fantasm. A remote heaven inhabited by courtesans, geishas, submissive housewives, naïve high school girls and huge-breasted manga heroines. However, this 'H' could well be nothing more than sheer fantasy...
Exclusively for GURATO, 20 European illustrators ( French and Belgian) reshape the outline of a preconceived idea, with their own conceptions of 'H'...

日本の「H」とは欧米の「X」、つまりセックスを意味している。フランス語では「H」を「アッシュ」と発音する。
昔から欧米人は「H」に謎めいたイメージを持ち、興味をそそられたりひらめきや着想を抱いている。
ー日本，そこは遥かなエロスの国。
東洋趣味の極地である。
遊女や芸者、従順な主婦、奔放な女子高生、大きすぎる胸のマンガのヒロインが暮らす、遠い天国。
しかし、これらの「H」は単なる幻想にすぎない。
H展ではGURATOだけの為に、２０人の欧州人のイラストレーター（フランス人とベルギー人）がそれぞれが持つ「H」の概念をもって、これまでのイメージを一新しその世界を描く。
